The Lovely Bones is the story of a 14-year-old girl from suburban Pennsylvania who is murdered by her neighbor. She tells the story from Heaven, showing the lives of the people around her and how they have changed all while attempting to get someone to find her lost body. The movieis directed by Peter Jackson.
Jan found this movie and suggested it. We watched it on saturday evening, we had a lazy day because I wasn't really feeling well. This is a movie that made me cry hard. I don't get emotional to soon with movies but this one made me think about my mom and I didn't feel better until sunday. This movie really hit me. For me it's also a very belgium-related movie. With all the stories coming up about dutroux and ronald jannsen. I think many other girls who read this blog, remember the first days after the shocking news about this evil things that happened at the basement of Dutroux. This year again, I got confronted with the news about Ronald Jannsen because I got to know one of the girls who got attacked by him. I think this movie really reflects the anger and sadness you feel when you think about these stories. This movie is really feeling very true and very eerie. It's a very intense movie.
Although the movie is really macabre, it's also a very hopefull movie and I liked the end a lot.
I hope more people will watch this movie. It's really a movie I relate to and love.
